Back to the Hustle and Bustle

We all went back to work and school today. My day started out with a 5am workout and has been nonstop ever since. My graduate classes started back up yesterday and my books were on my doorstep when I got home from work. Reality has set in. I am taking 4 classes again this semester, but my goal is to have a masters degree in July! Last semester I took 4 classes and earned a 3.8 GPA with kids, work, husband, etc. I wonder why I did not show the same dedication in undergrad when I had NO responsibilities (not even a job). Oh I know, I pledged a sorority and spent too much time partying!!!

This morning my husband confirmed that we are definitely going to Ohio this weekend.....aaack. Those of you who know me well are fully aware of how anal (oh I mean organized I am), and how everything has to be in place before I go out of town. My to do list has just gotten 2 pages longer.....oil change, get truck cleaned, clean house, laundry, pack, rethink menu so that the food such as milk, bread, etc. does not go to waste, dog sitter, lesson plans for Friday, contact teachers for makeup work for Friday, haircut for Dylan, class assignments, etc., etc., etc., ...........! Essentially everything that would've or could've been done over the course of this week and the weekend has to be done before 6am Friday morning which really means Thursday night. No sleep for me this week.

I logged on to the computer to check the 7 day weather forecast for Cincinnati and I ended up here so enough blogging........much to do.......Gotta love it!!!

Loooong Weekend!!!

School was cancelled Friday due to icy roads. We also got a little bit of snow. Snow always = FUN for kids! Here are a some photos of Taylor, Dylan, and Cooper enjoying the snow.

Taylor trying to gather enough snow to make a snowball.

Dylan trying to gather enough snow to make a snowball.

Cooper posing for the camera!

After playing in the snow, we went in and drank hot chocolate in front of the fire! Great Times!! We spent the entire weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) at home. It was great! I did leave the house each day to go to the gym. I thought twice about going Saturday morning in 13 degrees wind chill of zero weather, but after an hour of Body Combat I had no regrets! The rest of the weekend included lots of cleaning, organizing, cooking, napping and football. The kids baked us yummy strawberry cupcakes on Saturday. I tried out two new recipes that I saw on the Food Network....Stuffed Turkey Burgers and Grilled Broccoli. The turkey burgers were yummy. They were stuffed with pepper jack cheese and topped with a house sauce that gave them a spicy twist. The grilled broccoli was not so yummy. The marinade was not a hit at all. Tomorrow I am trying a new recipe for chili. I hope it turns out great because we love chili.

School has been cancelled again tomorrow because of icy conditions; however my kids have been "home schooled" all weekend. Taylor has been working on study island and compass in addition to her workbooks. Dylan has been working on reading and math out of his workbooks. More "home" school tomorrow for them! I guess that's one of the joys of having a mother that is a teacher!

Whew!!!

Well my new year's resolution was to find balance. So I started the year out with this awesome schedule that planned out my entire day, hour by hour, from 5:30am until 5:30am the next morning. Yes, I even planned out when I would sleep!!! I organized the schedule so that certain chores would be done on certain days and therefore the house would always be clean. Well, today none of the chores were done and there are 2 huge baskets of clean laundry at the end of my bed. Well, at least the clothes are clean! I scheduled my weekly shopping trip to the grocery store to be at 7am on Sunday morning and I would not go to the store again until the next Sunday. Well, yesterday I ended up at Target! I planned to go to the gym everyday at 4:30 after work. Well, the kids don't like going to KidsPlex so I ended up going at 5:00am instead while they were still snuggled in bed sound asleep! My plan was to cook and eat healthy, nutritious meals 3 times per day everyday. Well, today we ate Chick fil A for dinner! I have had to revamp my entire, strategically thought out life schedule well because life happens!

Today I......
went to the gym at 5:15am/Body Pump at 5:30am
dropped Taylor off at school
went to work
picked Dylan up from school
washed 1 load/dryed 1 load
played Wii (Mario Kart) with Dylan for 2 hours (He is addicted!!)
helped Taylor with math homework and quizzed her for her math, reading, spelling, vocabulary, and language arts test tomorrow
baked chocolate chip cookies for the kids
read to Dylan for 20 minutes over warm cookies
listed to Taylor read to me over warm cookies
got the phone call that there is NO SCHOOL TOMORROW!!!!

Although I did not feel extremely productive today because there is still so much to be done, looking back, so much was done!

Because of the phone call canceling school, my kids are still up way past their bedtime and I am about to watch the BAMA game with hubbie!

MY LIFE.......Gotta Love IT!!!!
